Betsy Cohen '04

Development Committee Chair

Betsy Cohen is proud CSW alumna (‘04), and a nonprofit executive with a focus on youth development and education. For nearly 15 years, she’s worked as a fundraiser, uplifting the missions of education organizations benefiting NYC youth. Most recently, she served as the Executive Director of Youth Communication. Upon her departure last May, the organization awarded her a Transformational Leadership award in recognition of her achievements. She also won a 40 Under 40 award in recognition of that work.
She evolved the founder-led, youth media organization into a trusted partner in social and emotional learning and student voice for NYC schools and after school programs. She is currently launching a consulting practice to support nonprofit organizations in their strategic management and fundraising efforts. She lives in the Hudson Valley, NY with her husband and dog.
Back
CSW — a gender-inclusive day and boarding school for grades 9-12 and PG — is a national leader in progressive education. We live out our values of inquiry-based learning, student agency, and embracing diverse perspectives in every aspect of our student experience. Young people come to CSW to learn how to learn and then put what they learn into action—essential skills they carry into their futures as doers, makers, innovators, leaders, and exceptional humans who do meaningful work in the world.
